Details for the 2011 Milwaukee Gathering

We are proud to announce the line up and schedule of events for the 5th Annual Milwaukee Gathering.
This year's event will include regulars Grandmaster Thomas Sipin (Four Winds Martial Arts), Sabunim Peter Sorce (Sorce Martial Arts), Guro Anthony Sell (Sage Arts Studio), and new guest instructors Sensei Reese Shaner (Waukesha MMA), Guro Josh Prior (MKG Martial Arts Madison), and Guro John Bednarski (Midway Kodenkan Martial Arts Academy). We anticipate having participants from over 10 different schools. This will be an epic day of training.
Here is our tentative schedule:
- 10:30 am - Doors Open (Kids classes will be wrapping up)
- 11:00 am - Guro Josh Prior - Panantukan (Filipino Boxing) Focus Mitt Training
- Noon - Sensei Reese Shaner - Brazilian Jiujitsu
- 1:00 pm - Sabunim Peter Sorce - Inayan Eskrima Lock Flows
- 2:00 pm - Lunch Break (90 minutes)
- 3:30 pm - Guro John Bednarski - Dikiti Tirsia Kali Swordsmanship
- 4:30 pm - Guro Anthony Sell - Kali Close Range Stick Training
- 5:30 pm - GM Thomas Sipin - Hardened Target Knife
- 6:30 pm - Closing Comments
Students are encouraged to bring the following: Bag Gloves, Focus Mitts, Water Bottle, Notebook, Mouthguard, 1 Pair of Sticks (some will be available), Training sword (sticks will suffice if you don't have one), a training Dagger, a Gi top or heavy flannel shirt, and a belt.
We will be waiting until the day of the event to determine whether the weather will permit us to cook out again this year. If not, there are many restaurants only a short drive away from the school. Maps of these restaurants will be available the day of the event.
The cost for the event is $50. Those who register and pay for the event by Friday, November 11, 2011 will receive a Free Event T-shirt. After a great delay, we have determined the date for the next Milwaukee Gathering.
The 5th Annual Milwaukee Gathering will be held at Four Winds Martial Arts in West Allis, Wisconsin, on Saturday, November 19th, 2011.
This year's event will feature six instructors and six new topics (details coming soon). We're anticipating another great day of fun and Martial Arts training.

2010 Milwaukee Gathering

The 4th Annual Milwaukee Gathering will be held on Saturday, August 28th, 2010 at Four Winds Martial Arts in West Allis, WI (same place as last year). We are currently working on a flyer for the event, please check this space in the next two days for contact information and more details.

This is the T-shirt design for 2010. All participants who register (and pay in full) by Saturday, August 21st, 2010 will receive a free T-shirt with the cost of registration for this event. We will have 6 training sessions, and the day will include a 90 minute lunch break during which we will be airing a documentary on the Filipino Martial Arts.
This year's event will feature six guest instructors, including the return of Sensei Sahnya Thom, and two new instructors, Master Kevin Schoenebeck and Graduado Marc "Sapo" Adesso from Capoeira Nago in Milwaukee. The current schedule of events is as follows:
